Microsoft Word:
1. Right-click on a Microsoft Word .doc or a .docx file located on your computer.
2. Select Open With, then click on Choose default program.
3. Under Recommended Programs, you should be able to see Microsoft Office Word as an available option. Single-click the icon.
4. Checkmark Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
5. Click OK.
6. This will open Microsoft Word on your local computer, and all Word documents with that same extension will also open in you installation of Word.

Microsoft Excel:
1. Right-click on a Microsoft Excel .xls, .xlsx or .csv file located on your computer.
2. Select Open With, then click on Choose default program.
3. Under Recommended Programs, you should be able to see Microsoft Office Excel as an available option. Single-click the icon.
4. Checkmark Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
5. Click OK.
6. This will open Microsoft Excel on your local computer, and all Excel documents with that same extension will also open in you installation of Excel.
